Former UFC lightweight contender, Kevin Lee, has announced he’s retiring from professional mixed-martial-arts at the age of 30.

The Michigan-born fighter returned to the UFC for the first time since 2021 earlier this month, and was quickly submitted by Rinat Fakhretdinov. Lee initially exited the UFC in August, 2021, after losing by decision to Daniel Rodriguez.

The veteran fighter recently announced his decision to retire via social media.

Lee joined the UFC in 2014 and proceeded to establish himself as a lightweight contender by going 9-2 in his first 11 fights with the promotion. Lee faced Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title in 2017, but was submitted in round three.

In more recent years, Lee battled through multiple injuries and went 3-5 to close out his MMA career.
