After Khabib Nurmagomedov fought for the first time in two years at UFC on FOX 19, and took out Darrell Horcher, the undefeated fighter is eyeing the fall for his next bout.

Nurmagomedov finished Horcher in the second round on Saturday, and immediately afterwards, he called for a bout with lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos. “The Eagle” decisioned the latter in April, 2014, before knee and rib injuries sidelined him for months. RDA, meanwhile, is booked to take on Eddie Alvarez on July 7th.

At the post-UFC on FOX 19 press conference, Nurmagomedov had this to say, about why he’s not planning to fight this summer (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I know and I feel my body needs rest,” Nurmagomedov said. “In June at the beginning of Ramadan, I want to rest a little bit and come back in September or October. But I think if the UFC wants to make a very smart decision for New York, New York has a couple million people who speak Russian. I’m famous in New York, I think. I can fight in New York. But now, I think I deserve a little bit of rest (after) my comeback.”

The 27 year-old fighter has gone 7-0 since he joined the UFC in 2012. The UFC is holding a card on November 12th in Madison Square Garden.
