Khabib Nurmagomedov Says he “Won’t be Fighting in The UFC” if Title Shot Isn’t Awarded
By FCF Staff
Following his submission win over Michael Johnson at UFC 205, Khabib Nurmagomedov has let the UFC know he won’t accept any other bout, except a fight for the lightweight title.
Nurmagomedov tapped Johnson out with a third round, kimura on Saturday night, and in doing so, moved his record to 24-0. “The Eagle” made it clear that night that he wants a title shot, and more recently, Nurmagomedov has tweeted out the following:
I want to fight for @ufc title for respect but if I don't get my title shot next I have different plan I won't be fighting in UFC @danawhite

After UFC 205, newly crowned, lightweight champ Conor McGregor argued that Nurmagomedov has not been active enough to receive a title shot. The world class grappler missed all of 2015 due to a knee injury.
