By FCF Staff
Recently it was announced that Khamzat Chimaev will not be able to fight Leon Edwards on March 13th as scheduled, and a new video documents why.
The rising star contracted COVID-19 late last year, after Edwards also became ill with the virus, and a December 19th fight was postponed until January 20th. Earlier this year the fight was postponed again since Chimaev was still dealing with issues stemming from COVID-19.
More recently, it was announced Chimaev (9-0) continues to incur setbacks on account of the virus, and as a result, the upcoming fight has been canceled.
In a new video from Front Kick, Chimaev’s manager Majdi Shammas revealed the fighter had to cut a recent training session short, and went to the hospital for medical treatment afterward. The video also shows an exhausted Chimaev sleeping in a hotel lobby.
