“King Mo” Lawal Signs Multifight Extension With Bellator: “This is Where I Want to Be”

Just over a week away from “King Mo” Lawal’s September 5th bout with Dustin Jacoby, Bellator has announced that the light-heavyweight has signed a multi-fight extension with the promotion.

Lawal, who was openly critical of former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney in the past, was quoted saying in the official announcement:

“This was one of the easiest decisions I could have made,” Lawal said. “After everything that went down over the last six or seven months, I didn’t think this was something that would ever happen, but when (Scott) Coker came on board with Bellator, everything changed. This is where I want to be. I don’t care who I fight, when it is, or where it is. I get paid to fight, and that’s what I’m going to do for Bellator. That’s it.”

The 33 year-old fighter is coming off a controversial, decision loss to “Rampage” Jackson in May, after decisioning Mikhail Zayats in February. Lawal (12-4) has gone 4-3 with Bellator, after competing for the Coker led Strikeforce from 2009 through 2012.

Bellator 123 will be hosted by the Mohegan Sun Aren in Uncasville, Connecticut and the main card will be broadcast on SPIKE.
