Bellator Fighting Championships has announced the line-up for this Friday’s preliminary card in Laredo, Texas, which as always, will feature several fighters from the region.
One of the bouts set for the night’s preliminary card will see lightweight vet Jacob Kirwan (9-3) take on Dave Jansen (16-2).
Kirwan is coming off a successful Bellator debut; last October he worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Rene Nazare at the promotion’s 54th event.
Jansen has gone 2-0 to date under the Bellator banner by scoring victories over Scott MacAfee and more recently Ashkan Morvari.
Some of the other confirmed bouts for Bellator 62 include: ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” subject Rad Martinez (11-2) vs. featherweight Douglas Frey (10-7), Luis Vega, who has gone 7-2 as an amateur, vs. Laredo welterweight Sonny Luque (1-2), lightweight Cosmo Alexander (0-0) vs. El Paso’s Oscar de La Parra (1-2), Joseph Daily (4-2) vs. welteweight Sean Spencer (7-1), and Steve Penterson (6-1) vs. Dallas featherweight Chris Jones (6-1).
Friday’s Bellator 62 card will also feature the heavyweight finals between Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos, as well as the quartefinals for the promotion’s next lightweight tourney.
The preliminary card will be streamed live on Spike.com and the main card will be broadcast live on MTV 2.
