Kurt Pellegrino Says He’s Out of Bellator 107
By FCF Staff
UFC veteran Kurt Pellegrino apparently has been forced to drop out of his upcoming, November 15th bout with Bellator, as the lightweight has been injured while preparing for the fight.
The 34 year-old fighter announced the news via Twitter recently by stating: “I would like to tell u all I’m hurt and will not be fighting in @BellatorMMA in nov sorry guys thanks for the love”
The fight, which was supposed to be against Saul Almeida, would have marked the first time Pellegrino had competed since November, 2011. The renowned grappler was quickly stopped by Patricky Freire at the Bellator event, and Pellegrino (16-7) announced he was retiring. The lightweight decided earlier this year, however, that he wanted to compete again.
Pellegrino concluded his run with the UFC after incurring back-to-back decision losses to Gleison Tibau and George Sotiropoulos. The defeats followed a four fight win streak.
