After going 3-2 in the UFC middleweight division, Australia’s Kyle Noke has decided to drop to welterweight and has agreed to fight Charlie Brenneman at UFC 151.

The promotion has announced that verbal agreements are in place for the September 1st bout, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Noke (19-6) is coming off back-to-back losses to Ed Herman and most recently Andrew Craig in March, after scoring Octagon wins over Josh Bryant, Rob Kimmons and Chris Camozzi.

Brenneman (15-4) is also looking to rebound from a loss, as the AMA Fight Club competitor was submitted by Erick Silva at UFC on FX 3 in June. Prior to the defeat, the man nicknamed “The Spaniard”, worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Daniel Roberts in January.

UFC 151 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between champion Jon Jones and former PRIDE and Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson.

Welterweight contenders Jake Ellenberger and Josh Koscheck are also scheduled to fight.
