Lightweight Title Fight, Two More Bouts Confirmed for BAMMA 7

By FCF Staff

The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts has announced today that lightweight champion Rob Sinclair will defend his title against Sengoku vet Leonardo Santos at the promotion’s next event, September 10th. In addition, the British promotion has confirmed that former “Ultimate Fighter” winner Efrain Escudero will take on lightweight Tim Radcliffe and that middleweight Matt Ewin will face Valentino Petrescu at the BAMMA 7 card.

The September 10th event will be hosted by the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. (Pictured: Ewin attempting to get Travis Lutter off his back)

Sinclair (10-2) is coming off a stoppage win over Martin Begely, at an Olympian MMA Championships event last month, to extend his winning streak to three. Santos (9-3) earned a unanimous decision win over Jason Ball at BAMMA 6 in May and is 4-1 in his last five bouts.

Escudero (16-3) will be looking to rebound from a UD loss to Fabricio Camoes at Tachi Palace Fights 9 last month, which ended the Arizona fighter’s three fight winning streak. Radcliffe (11-4) is coming off a submission win over Alexandre Izidro at a World Fighting Championships card on May 7th and is 3-2 in his last five outings.

Ewin (22-9-1) competed at BAMMA 6 in May and worked his way to a unanimous decision win over UFC vet Ivan Salaverry. The British vet has now won six straight. Petrescu (11-2) also fought on that same card and earned a majority decision nod over Joao Paulo de Souza.

More bouts for BAMMA 7 will be announced soon.
