Lion Fight 50 to Feature Return of Chris Tramell

By Press Release

LAS VEGAS – It has been three years since Chris Tramell very nearly lost his life in a horrific turn of unfortunate events.
Time has healed those wounds, and now the talented striker is returning to action, fittingly on the biggest stage of his career. Tramell will take on Ricky Guillen at Lion Fight 50 Presented by Hollywood Park Casino in a cruiserweight bout that will highlight the main card airing on CBS Sports Network. The event takes place on Saturday, November 3rd at the famed Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

To say the least, it’s been a long road to reach this stage for the Texan, who now fights out of Bangkok, Thailand. His journey survival and struggle is about to pay off.

“Cedric Gauthier and Elite Fight Club in Bangkok get all the credit through sponsoring me and getting me back on my feet and into form for this return,” said Tramell (7-2).

“The words playing in my head for three years are from The Roots song The Fire – ‘You don’t say good luck, you say don’t give up. It’s the fire inside you, let it burn.’”

Tramell will detail his comeback in his own words on the new Lion Fight website in the coming days. It is a gripping story as the list of injuries he endured due to a motorcycle accident include a ruptured kidney and spleen, a punctured lung, six broken ribs and a partially broken spine.

But he is not alone in his bid to return to past glory. Guillen (2-0) is also marching down that path as the Bakersfield, California, product has survived being hit by a car and suffering a broken neck as well as a battle with testicular cancer. Guillen will also detail his story in the coming days on the new Lion Fight website.

“It is truly incredible what both of these fighters have overcome, and now to be part of Lion Fight 50, it is a testament of their courage and dedication to Muay Thai,” said Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent.

“I know fans have their favorites, but how can you not cheer for both of these competitors? They are spectacular examples of warrior spirit.”

The Tramell-Guillen matchup completes the lineup for Lion Fight 50:
