M-1 Challenge 50: Luis Fernando Miranda Replacing Victor Nemkov Versus Champ Stephan Puetz
Victor Nemkov’s chance to reclaim the M-1 Global light-heavyweight title has been postponed, as the promotion has announced that he will no longer fight champ Stephan Puetz on August 15th.
Nemkov has been forced to drop out of the bout due to a hand injury, and as a result, Luis Fernando Miranda will fight Puetz.
Puetz (10-1) secured the light-heavyweight belt in March by decisioning Nemkov, and is 4-1 in his last five bouts.
Miranda (12-1) is coming off a technical submission win over Vasily Babich at M-1 Challenge 47 in April, and has won 7 straight.
“The fight against Nemkov is not going to happen on August 15th and I wish him a quick recovery,” Puetz said in a press release from the promotion. “I will focus on Miranda and my objective hasn’t changed a bit. I want to keep my belt and bring it back to Germany.
In the co-main event, Damian Grabowski (19-1) will take on heavyweight Marcin Tybura (10-0).
The August 15th, M-1 Challenge 50 card will be hosted outdoors in St. Petersburg, Russia.
