M-1 Challenge 57: Maro Perak to Make Light-Heavyweight Debut vs. Rashid Yusupov

M-1 Global has announced that veteran Maro Perak has elected to drop down from heavyweight to light-heavyweight, and will face Rashid Yusupov at M-1 Challenge 57. The upcoming card will take place on May 2nd in Orenburg, Russia.
Perak (23-5-1) is making the move after dropping consecutive bouts to Marcin Tybura and Denis Smoldarev. Prior to the defeats the Croatian fighter had won three straight, which included a victory over UFC and Bellator vet Travis Wiuff.
According to a press release from the promotion Yusupov (4-0-1) holds an International Master of Sports in MMA, and is coming off a decision win over Charles Andrade.
M-1 Challenge 57 will be headlined by a five-round, heavyweight super fight between unbeaten M-1 Challenge heavyweight champ Marcin “Tybur” Tybura (12-0-0) and light-heavyweight champ Stephan “T-800” Puetz (12-1-0).
