Depending on how the UFC’s upcoming events go, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, it sounds like Conor McGregor could return to the Octagon in July.

Due to the pandemic, the UFC has not held an event in nearly two months. On Saturday, however, UFC 249 will take place in Jacksonville, Florida, and the promotion plans to hold regular events after that.

Recently McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, reported the following to ESPN.

“Conor is very curious to see whether the health and safety of the athletes and staff are ensured,” Attar said. “He wants to make sure everyone is taken care of properly.”

“While Conor’s desire would be to fight in front of another sold-out crowd,” Attar said, “he does understand what him fighting in an empty arena could do for people at home and would consider if he is comfortable with the way the UFC is holding these events from a health and safety standpoint.”

The report also states that provided all goes well with the UFC’s upcoming cards, McGregor is eyeing a fight in July. Recently UFC President Dana White said McGregor was thinking about fighting in mid to late June.
