Marc Diakiese became one of Europe’s top lightweight prospects via his training and life in England, but earlier this year, “Bonecrusher” decided to make the move to American Top Team in Florida. Why?

Recently the British fighter spoke to UFC.com, in advance of his July 7th bout with Drakkar Klose. While discussing his decision to move to ATT, the 24 year-old fighter stated this:

“My mindset changed,” Diakiese said. “I wanted to make a living and fight in the UFC, but when I got there, my mind changed and I wanted to be a champion. So when that happened, making the move here was pretty easy because I feel for me to make progress, I needed to be somewhere like this.”

Diakiese will be looking for his fourth straight win when he faces Klose, and to move his overall record to 13-0.

“I have it pretty tough here every day,” Diakiese said, while discussing ATT. “I’m sparring with the guy fighting Gunnar Nelson (Santiago Ponzinibbio) and people like Will Brooks, and they’re heavier so they’re putting a lot of pressure on me. But I’m holding my own, so I’m pretty confident that it’s good to have these guys in the gym to make me better.”

The July 7th, TUF 25 Finale will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
