Although Conor McGregor has no pro boxing bouts on his resume, Mark Henry believes the UFC’s lightweight champ is one of the best pugilists he’s ever seen.

Recently McGregor confirmed that he’s reached an agreement with the UFC, for the long discussed, proposed bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now UFC President Dana White will try to sign the boxing star onto the bout.

Henry was recently asked to weigh-in on McGregor’s chances against Mayweather, and the renowned striking coach said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Conor is one of the best boxers I’ve ever seen – ever. From his precision to his power to his speed, and I think he has a shot in the first two rounds,” Henry said. “Because Mayweather, like a lot of boxers do when they’re sparring MMA guys, he may not think he’s that good.

“He might not realize how fast Conor is, and you’ve got to remember that Conor is going to be taller, longer, 13 years younger, and a southpaw. Early on, I’d give him a chance of doing some damage. But after that, it’s not going to be too good (for McGregor).

Henry is a coach for former champs Frankie Edgar and Eddie Alvarez, the latter of whom was stopped by McGregor last year.
