Mark Hunt Calls Decision to Waive Four Month Drug Testing Notice For Brock Lesnar “BS”

Brock Lesnar will not be held to the UFC’s four month, drug testing notification policy as he prepares to fight Mark Hunt on July 9th, and the latter is outraged about it.

Last week it was revealed that since Lesnar’s deal to fight Hunt at UFC 200 only recently came together, the four month, notification regulation has been waived. The UFC does have a provision to allow for such circumstances, whereby “exceptional circumstances or where the strict application of that rule would be manifestly unfair to an Athlete.” Lesnar will, however, be tested in advance of the bout.

In a follow up interview with FOX Sports Australia, Hunt had this to say about the situation:

“I don’t think that’s fair. I think it’s load of bulls***, I think it’s rubbish,” Hunt said. “I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up — mixed martial arts — this is a bad way to do it. I don’t care who you are. It’s ridiculous.

“I don’t think it’s a great move. I think he’s juiced to the gills — and I still think I’m going to knock him out. So I don’t think that’s correct. I don’t think he should be allowed to get a four-month exemption otherwise everyone else should…”

UFC 200 will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
