Mark Hunt Wants Bout With Francis Ngannou Next
By FCF Staff
Following his decision loss to Curtis Blaydes, Mark Hunt is calling for a bout with fellow, feared slugger, Francis Ngannou.
Hunt took on Blaydes at UFC 221 last month and was out-wrestled by the rising heavyweight. More recently, Hunt spoke with The Sporting News in Australia, and he had this to say about his next bout:
“We’re looking to see if I can get Ngannou for August in Hawaii – that’d be great,” Hunt said.
“Ngannou would be good for me, or (Alexander) Volkov, who just beat Fabricio – if he’s still available.
“I’m just trying to get someone higher than me. I’ve got two fights left, so I’m seeing if I can get Ngannou. I don’t know if they’ve confirmed Hawaii, but it’d be a great match…see who shoots for the takedown first.”
Ngannou, meanwhile, lost via decision to champion Stipe Miocic in his last bout, which took place at UFC 220 in January.
