Joseph Benavidez Fighting Darren Uyenoyama at UFC on FOX 7

The UFC has been busy this week confirming bouts for the promotion’s upcoming schedule, and several more fights have been announced as Wednesday unfolds. In addition to confirming an earlier report that Anderson Silva will fight Chris Weidman on July 6th, the UFC has announced that middleweight Mark Munoz will battle Tim Boetsch that same night.

The Munoz (12-3), Boetsch (15-6) fight will be part of UFC 162, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will also feature Rafael Cavalcante (11-3) vs. Thiago Silva (14-3), and as expected, Roger Gracie (6-1) will fight fellow Strikeforce vet Tim Kennedy (15-4).

The UFC has also announced today that heavyweight Pat Barry (8-5) will fight Shawn Jordan (14-4) at the promotion’s June 15th, UFC 161 event in Winnipeg. A welterweight tilt between Jake Shields (27-6-1) and Tyron Woodley (11-1) has also been added to the card.

The UFC 161 card will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between interim champ Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland.

Finally, the promotion has confirmed that flyweight Joseph Benavidez (17-3) will meet Darren Uyenoyama (8-3), and that bantamweight Francisco Rivera (9-2) will face Hugo Viana (7-0) at UFC on FOX 7.

The April 20th event will be hosted by San Jose’s HP Pavilion and will feature lightweight champion Benson Henderson taking on Gilbert Melendez in the main event.
