Matt Brown Blasts Conor McGregor: “At This Point He’s a Bum”
By FCF Staff
Matt Brown won’t deny that Conor McGregor has accomplished amazing and historic things during his career. But, the rugged veteran believes McGregor’s best days are far, far behind him.
McGregor is expected to return to the Octagon later this year for a bout with fellow TUF 30 coach, Michael Chandler. The bout will be McGregor’s first since he broke his leg in a July, 2021 fight with Dustin Poirier.
Recently, Brown appeared on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channel. While discussing McGregor, Brown proceeded to light up the controversial star (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“He’s a nobody, in my opinion,” Brown said. “He was amazing, I give him props for all that he did, but at this point he’s a bum.”
McGregor’s last championship win took place in 2016, when he stopped Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title. Since then, however, McGregor (22-6) has gone 1-3 and the fighter has had various run-ins with authorities.
“You can headline that, and it won’t be bullsh*t,” Brown said. “Conor, I think he’s lost like four or his last five. He hasn’t f*cking done nothing.
“Everything you see, it’s him drinking and getting coked up, or he’s juiced out of his mind. That’s f*cking bum life to me. All that money don’t make you not a bum. You’re still a bum to me, bro. When you step in the cage, you’re still a bum to me.”
Brown (24-19), meanwhile, is coming off a knockout win over Court McGee in May and has gone 2-3 in his last 5 fights.
