Although Matt Mitrione was floored by Carl Seumanutafa at Bellator Dynamite 2 on Friday, the heavyweight says he’s been cleared to fight Oli Thompson in three weeks time at Bellator 158.

Mitrione was dropped by Seumanutafa in the opening round of their bout, and was on the verge of being finished. Mitrione, however, was able to recover and proceeded to KO Seumanutafa with a shot from above.

In his post-fight interview, Mitrione relayed that he couldn’t remember the knockdown, before the promotion announced he’s fighting Thompson on July 16th. But, in Bellator’s kickboxing broadcast following Dynamite 2, Mitrione said the following (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I passed all my medicals, my concussion protocols – I’m ready to get in there and scrap in three weeks”

Mitrione was making his Bellator debut on Friday, and was fighting for the first time since January, when he lost via TKO to Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 81.

(Update: Bellator Director of Regulatory Affairs, Corey Schafer, told MMA Mania that Mitrione will still underdog a MRI prior to fighting Thompson)
