Matt Riddle vs. Lance Benoist Added to UFC Fight Night 25
By FCF Staff
UFC Fight Night 25 has had a welterweight bout between Matt Riddle and Octagon newcomer Lance Benoist added to the line-up. The match-up, which will take place September 17th in New Orleans, was announced on the official UFC site today.
Riddle (5-2) will be competing for the first time since December, when he lost by unanimous decision to Sean Pierson at UFC 124. The defeat came after Riddle stopped fellow former TUF competitor DaMarques Johnson at UFC Live on Versus 2 last August.
Benoist (5-0) is coming off a first round, submission win over Ryan Vincent in April while competing for Capital City Cage Wars. Benoist won all five of his pro bouts in the opening round.
UFC Fight Night 25, which will be hosted by the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will feature a welterweight bout between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger in the main event.
The card will be broadcast live on Spike TV.
