Max Holloway Comments on Jose Aldo’s Move to 135, Upcoming Bout With Marlon Moraes

Some observers have expressed concerns over Jose Aldo’s move to bantamweight, and whether the legend can make 135 in a healthy manner. But, Max Holloway is “excited” to see how the former featherweight champ does in the next chapter of his career.
Aldo is booked to fight bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes at UFC 245 this Saturday, which is the same card Holloway will face Alexander Volkanovski. During a recent luncheon with media, the featherweight champ had this to say about Aldo’s bantamweight debut (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“I was like, ‘Thank God I don’t have to face him again,’” Holloway said. “That guy’s a beast. He’s strong. I was kind of blown away at first. I was like, ‘Oh, he’s going to make ’35, and it’s possible. It’s just changing your diet and this and that.’ So I wish nothing but the best for him. But we’ll see what happens.
“I’m excited. He’s fighting, in my eyes – it’s like fighting a clone. Him and Marlon are like the same, and they’re both Brazilians. I’m excited for that fight, so I can’t wait to watch that fight, too.”
Holloway faced Aldo twice in 2017 and finished the renowned fighter in round three of both fights. Most recently, at UFC 240 in July, Holloway defeated Frankie Edgar by decision.
