Max Holloway Discusses Timeline For Next Title Defense
By FCF Staff
After being forced out of the March 3rd, UFC 222 card due to an undisclosed, ankle injury, Max Holloway has provided a timeline for his return.
Holloway was scheduled to fight Frankie Edgar at the recent event, and after he pulled out, Brian Ortega stepped in. The latter proceeded to stop Edgar in the opening round.
The featherweight champ appeared on the latest “MMA Hour”, and Holloway said the following, while discussing his return (quote via MMA Fighting):
“…My doctors, my physical therapists, my coaches, that’s all of the times that we’re looking at right now. They’re trying to see that July and August return, and that’s all I can do, be positive and keep training, keep getting this thing strong. And I can’t wait, man. I can’t wait to make that walk again. It’s a pretty crazy experience getting injured this bad and I don’t wish it on no one.”
Holloway’s last fight took place in December, when he stopped former champ, Jose Aldo.
