Maximum Fighting Championship 31 Moved to October 7th

By FCF Staff

Maximum Fighting Championship President Mark Pavelich has announced today that the promotion’s next event will take place on October 7th, rather than October 14th as originally planned. The move was announced via Pavelich’s official Twitter account.

MFC 31 will be hosted by Edmonton, Alberta’s Mayfield Trade Centre and will be broadcast live on HDNet.

The card is expected to feature lightweight champion Antonio McKee taking on veteran challenger Brian Cobb.

McKee (25-4-2) will be returning to the promotion for the first time since the 41 year-old-fighter competed at UFC 125. McKee lost by split decision to Jacob Volkmann at the event, which ended the veteran’s fifteen fight undefeated streak.

Prior to the loss, McKee stopped Luciano Azevedo in the second round at MFC 26 last September.

Cobb (19-6) is coming off a successful MFC debut in June, as he stopped fellow UFC vet Drew Fickett in the first round with a flurry of strikes. The win was the 30 year-old-fighter’s fourth in a row

The Senogku vet is 8-2 in his last ten bouts, with his only losses during that stretch coming to Terry Etim and Ricardo Tirloni.
