DREAM has confirmed that one of the world’s top women competitors will be fighting at its upcoming New Year’s Eve card in Saitama, Japan, as the promotion has announced that renowned veteran Megumi Fujii will fight Karla Benitez.

Fujii (24-1) will head into next week’s bout having won back-to-back bouts over Emi Fujino and most recently Mika Nagao, who she defeated by unanimous decision in July. The 115 pound fighter’s only defeat to date came against Zoila Gurgel last October, who defeated her by split decision at Bellator 34.

Benitez (6-1) is coming off her first professional defeat, as the Spanish fighter lost by UD to Katja Kankaanpaa in October, while competing for the Cage promotion.
