MFC 30: Brian Cobb Stops Drew Fickett, Marcus Davis Defeats Pete Spratt

By FCF Staff

Brian Cobb ended Drew Fickett’s five fight winning streak last night at Maximum Fighting Championship’s thirtieth event in Edmonton, Alberta. The lightweight reportedly escaped an early rear-naked-choke attempt from Fickett, to in turn stop the vet with a series of ground-and-pound strikes. The win was Cobb’s fourth straight.

“Without a doubt, the biggest win of my career,” Cobb was quoted saying in a MFC release. “It was a true honor to fight Drew Fickett and I am extremely happy with this win.”

In another of the card’s feature attractions Marcus Davis worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Pete Spratt. The victory marked the second time that Davis has defeated Spratt, after tapping out the welterweight with an Achilles Lock at UFC 69.
