The Maximum Fighting Championship has announced that the promotion will crown its first bantamweight champ on October 4th, as Anthony Birchak will take on Tito Jones. MFC 38 “Behind Enemy Lines” will be hosted by the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, and will be broadcast on AXS TV.

Birchak (10-1) made his MFC debut in May, and worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Ryan Benoit, in a memorable, three round bout. The victory was the Arizona fighter’s fourth straight.

“Anthony’s performance at MFC 37 was without a doubt one of the fiercest and most entertaining showcases I’ve ever seen,” MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion.”

“I’m incredibly excited to be putting Anthony in a title fight and equally as excited to see Tito Jones go after the belt. Tito didn’t hesitate for one second to go face-to-face against Birchak and that tells me he’s going to bring the fight right to him which is what the fans of the MFC love.”

Jones (10-6), meanwhile, has won three straight bouts and is coming off a decision win over Larry DiGiulio at a Coalition of Pound card in September.
