The Maximum Fighting Championship has added another established vet to its roster, as the Canadian based organization has announced that it has signed Jay Silva to a multi-fight contract.
According to a press release from the organization, the UFC and Bellator veteran will make his promotional debut at MFC 36 on February 15th, in Edmonton, Alberta.
“Jay Silva is a huge talent, and can become an absolute wrecking machine in the Maximum Fighting Championship,” MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich was quoted saying.
“The days are over when Jay took fights at the last minute, on short notice, and without a proper training camp. He knows he’s fighting in February and I think you’ll see the best Jay Silva ever. The rest of the middleweight division should take notice now because a rejuvenated, reincarnated Jay Silva is coming to the MFC.”
The 31 year-old Silva (8-6) is coming off a majority decision loss to Michael Materla at a KSW event in May, after choking out Kendall Grove at a Superior Cage Combat card in February.
Silva’s opponent for MFC 36 has yet to be determined.
