Michael Bisping Fighting Tim Boetsch at UFC 148

Bisping

Jeff Hougland Versus Renan Barao Also Confirmed For July 7th Card

By FCF Staff

Following his dramatic, highlight reel finish of Yushin Okami at UFC 144 in February, Tim Boetsch has been given his wish, a match-up with fellow middleweight contender Michael Bisping. The UFC has announced today that Boetsch will face the former TUF winner at the promotion’s upcoming July 7th card in Las Vegas.

With the come from behind win over Okami, Boetsch (15-4) has won three straight fights since the 31 year-old-fighter elected to drop down from light-heavyweight.

Bisping (22-4) is coming off a tightly contested, unanimous decision loss to Chael Sonnen in January, which put an end to the British fighter’s four fight win streak.

Hougland (10-4) has won nine straight fights heading into UFC 148. Last July, the bantamweight outscored Donny Walker for the UD win in what was Hougland’s Octagon debut. You can see a recent interview Hougland did with FCF by clicking here.

Barao (28-1) has continued to impress since signing with Zuffa, as the Brazilian fighter has now gone 5-0 in WEC and UFC competition. Most recently, at UFC 143 in February, Barao defeated Scott Jorgensen by unanimous decision.

UFC 148 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and will also feature a middleweight bout between Rich Franklin and Cung Le.
