In recent weeks, Bellator has signed UFC vets like Ryan Bader, Lorenz Larkin and Michael McDonald, and Michael Chandler believes more fighters will head to the Viacom owned promotion.

The recent wave of signings are in keeping with a trend, which has seen other competitors like Rory MacDonald, Matt Mitrione, Benson Henderson and Phil Davis sign with Bellator. Recently Bellator held a press conference to promote its June 24th card in New York City. During  it, Chandler had this to say about Bellator President Scott Coker, and his activity in the free agent market (quote via MMA Junkie):

“…I talk to Scott all the time. He’s continuing to go after guys. I have a lot of guys on my radar that I would love to fight, and you’re just going to see more and more guys coming over.

“You’re seeing guys come over (from the UFC). It’s exciting. It’s an exciting time to be in my position. It’s an exciting time to be fighting for Bellator, and June 24 is going to be another night for me to stamp my name on the lightweight division. Then we’ll see where we go from there.”

Chandler is booked to fight Brent Primus at Bellator “NYC”, which will be hosted by Madison Square Garden.
