Michael Page Outlines Plan to Lock-up Rematch With Douglas Lima

By FCF Staff

The only person to beat Michael Page to date is Douglas Lima, and “Venom” is confident he”ll get a chance to avenge that loss.

Page faced Lima this past year in May, and was knocked out by Bellator’s three-time welterweight champ in round two. Since then, Page has recorded stoppage wins over Richard Kiely and Giovanni Melillo. Following the latest win, however, Lima told Page he needs to defeat ranked opponents.

The highlight reel striker is booked to fight Shinsho Anzai today at Bellator Japan. While speaking to the media recently, Page had this to say, while discussing his plan to fight Lima again (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Douglas Lima was speaking about me and said he’s never fought anybody as fast as me before and is excited and is looking forward to having that rematch,” Page said. “The second I won, he’s like, ‘Nah, you have to fight some more people.’ He was like, ‘Nah, I’m not even letting you come back that quick,’ so, it’s going to happen either way. There’s going to be a point where he’s not going to be able to stop it, and like I said, if I keep doing what I’m doing now, stay active, stay busy, keep beating people, then 100 percent he can’t stop it.”

Lima, meanwhile, is coming off a decision win over Rory MacDonald in October.
