By FCF Staff
One of the greatest fighters in women’s MMA history is returning to the UFC Octagon, as Miesha Tate is coming out of retirement.
Tate shocked many throughout the MMA world when following her decision loss to Raquel Pennington in 2016, she announced she was retiring.
Recently the now 34-year-old fighter informed ESPN she is ending her retirement and will fight Marion Reneau at the UFC’s July 17th card. The 43-year-old Reneau, meanwhile, confirmed with the outlet that the upcoming bout will be her last.
Tate’s (18-7) initial retirement came just one fight removed from her stoppage loss to Amanda Nunes, which ended her reign as bantamweight champion. The former Strikeforce champ won the title in March, 2016, by choking out Holly Holm.
Reneau (9-7-1) will be looking to snap a four-fight losing streak when she faces Tate.
