After incurring a knockout loss to rising bantamweight Michael McDonald in April, former WEC champion Miguel Torres has announced that he’s been released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It didn’t take long for the accomplished fighter to find more work, however, as Titan Fighting Championship has signed Torres for a November 2nd fight.

The 31 year-old-veteran and BJJ black belt made the announcement via his official website.

I am writing this letter to inform you that as a result of my last loss, I was cut from the UFC. My next fight will be in Hammond, Indiana for Titan Fighting Championship on November the 2nd.  I am excited to continue fighting, to regain my focus and to get back to what made me a champion.

Titan FC also confirmed the signing and fight via the promotion’s official Twitter account.

Torres (40-5) exits from the UFC having gone 3-2 in his last five fights, which includes victories over Antonio Banuelos, Charlie Valencia and Nick Pace.

The fighter’s other loss during that stretch came against Demetrious Johnson, who handed Torres  a unanimous decision loss in May, 2011.

The November 2nd Titan FC card will take place in Hammond, Indiana. No opponent for Torres has been announced.
