Former UFC heavyweight contender Jeff Monson has added another submission win to his extensive record, as Mike Brown is reporting that his American Top Team teammate tapped out Alexander Emelianenko at a M-1 Global card today in Russia.

Brown reported the news via his official Twitter account:

@JeffMonson just defeated Alexander Emelianeko by his patented north south choke. Big  Congrat @AmericanTopTeam

With the win, Monson extended his undefeated streak to five, after he dropped a unanimous decision loss to Alexander’s brother Fedor Emelianenko last November.

The defeat ended a four fight win streak for Emelianenko, whose record now stands at 21-6.

The 41 year-old Monson’s record now sits at 47-13.
