Mike Perry Believes Bout With Darren Till Would Make For “Good Press”
By FCF Staff
Darren Till and Mike Perry have made it clear in the past that they’d like to fight, and following the latter’s win at UFC Fort Lauderdale, “Platinum” is calling for the match-up again.
Perry faced Alex Oliveira on Saturday and emerged from the thrilling battle with a decision win. After the bout, the charismatic fighter had this to say, while relaying he wants to fight Till next (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“I think the Darren Till fight is a good fight,” Perry said. “He’s called me out in the octagon, I just called him out in the octagon. I think that’s good press for the UFC to put together. The fight makes sense. I used to not want to call people out who were coming off a loss, but you know, once you’re up on the top and you got that number next to your name, I’m going to need that spot.”
Till was reportedly arrested in the Canary Islands recently and ordered to pay a fine, for allegedly playing a role in the vandalizing of a hotel room and the theft of a cab. The welterweight is coming off a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC London in March.
