Mirko “Cro Cop” Announces Retirement After Reporting Hospitalization Due to Stroke

Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has retired from fighting in the past, only to return, but the legendary fighter is reporting his career is definitely over, after having a stroke.
The Croatian fighter recently reported on Nova TV that he had been hospitalized due to a stroke, and as a result, he can longer fight. According to a follow-up report from MMA Junkie, “Cro Cop” relayed on the show:
“I will never enter the ring again. I cannot let anyone hit me. I have to have (an MRI) in three months, (and) after that I will train again, boxing bags, but there is no such thing as a fight.”
“Cro Cop” also reported his retirement and the stroke via social media.
The 44-year-old Filipovic, who is coming off a decision win over Roby Nelson at Bellator 216 last month, retires from MMA having gone 38-11-2, 1 NC. “Cro Cop” also went 26-8 in kickboxing competition.
