Muay Thai Extravaganza In Curitiba

Muay Thai Extravaganza in Curitiba
By Eduardo Alonso

The Brazilian city of Curitiba, known for producing NHB champions like Wanderlei Silva and Pele Landi, is a true "Muay Thai fighter factory." Wiith academies such as Chute Boxe, among others, always producing tough Muay Thai fighters (as proved by Chute Boxe’s own Nilson de Castro in his K-1 debut), Curitiba has been establishing itself as the Muay Thai capital in Brazil, and once again will hold Brazil’s biggest Muay Thai event, the Storm Muay Thai World.
The Fifth edition of STORM will take place on Saturday, May 25th at "Opera de Arame." This will be the first time a fighting event will be held in this Curitiba landmark. The place is truly beatiful, and promises to add a special feeling to this exciting fighting night. Among the surprises planned for the event is the presence as a guest of Master Nelio Naja, the man who brought Muay Thai to Brazil and taught Rudimar Fedrigo himself! He was disapeared for a while, but now he was found and will receive and tribute at the event like he deserves. Additionally, STORM will also feature a tribute to Nilson de Castro, due to his win at K-1 in Japan, showing video of his fight to the audience. Wanderlei Silva and Pele Landi will be among the referees for the event that will have 13 fights on the card, including the participation of some STORM veterans such as Fabio Pelezinho, who won fights in the first and third editions of the event, and Fabio Tigrao who already won three fights at STORM. The event also will feature some NHB veterans on the card, like Gildo Lima and Osmar Dias. Some of the fights will have 3 rounds of 3 minutes each, and the most important fights of the night will feature 5 rounds of 3 minutes each. This is the biggest card in STORM’s history so far, and promises to deliver an action-packed Muay Thai night of fights for the fighting fans of Curitiba.
