Nate Diaz Believes Conor McGregor Has a “Puncher’s Chance” Against Floyd Mayweather Early
By FCF Staff
It remains to be seen if a much discussed boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is going to happen. But if it does, Nate Diaz isn’t completely ruling out his former foe’s chances against the boxing star.
For months, there’s been rumors circulating about a fight between Mayweather and McGregor, and more recently the latter said he believes the bout will happen. Recently Diaz was a guest on CSN Fights, and during the show, he was asked by Andre Ward to weigh-in on the rumored, Mayweather – McGregor bout. Here is some of what Diaz had to say (quote via Bloody Elbow):
“I think it is a publicity stunt but McGregor, when it comes to boxing, is good,” Diaz said. “He’s got a good chance to make something happen in two or three rounds. If anything, he has two or three good rounds. He’s got an amateur style; he’s got good movement and good punches for six or eight minutes… He’s got a puncher’s chance, if anything.”
Diaz and McGregor fought two time sin 2016. In their first fight in March, Diaz submitted McGregor in the second round. The latter, however, earned a decision win over Diaz in the rematch, which took place in August.
