As Conor McGregor continues to remain on the sidelines and speculation swirls regarding his UFC future, Nate Diaz has let it be known he’s supporting his longtime rival.

For months now, there’s been extensive talk about when and who McGregor will fight next. The expectation was that the controversial star would fight Michael Chandler in 2023, but that never happened.

In more recent weeks, McGregor has increasingly shared his frustration regarding the situation and has called for fights with Chandler and Diaz this summer and fall, respectively. Since the former featherweight and lightweight champ reportedly has just two fights left on his contract, there’s been speculation the delay in booking McGregor’s next bout is because no extension has been signed.

Well, more recently, Diaz shared out the message below via social media, in which he cited his decision to fight out his UFC contract.

Diaz completed his UFC deal in September, 2022, by submitting Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. Last August, Diaz dropped a decision loss to YouTube celebrity, turned-boxer, Jake Paul.

McGregor and Diaz fought two times in 2016, in what were two of the biggest fights in UFC history. Each fighter recorded a victory, and as a result, speculation about a rubber match occurring has been persistent ever since.
