TKO 18 Logo
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 26th IN MONTREAL!
GET READY FOR THE IMPACT!

TKO 18 Poster
(MONTREAL, CANADA) – TKO Major League MMA is proud to announce the fight card for TKO 18: IMPACTTM on Friday November 26th 2004 to be held at the PIERRE-CHARBONNEAU CENTRE in Montreal, Quebec. This event will feature an unprecedented four championship fights! The top fighters in Canada have been assembled and are ready to compete for the ultimate recognition of being Canada’s best. They hope that this recognition will lead them to follow in the footsteps of Georges St-Pierre and Patrick Cote who both put on terrific performances at UFC 50: The War of ’04TM. No punches will be held, no kicks will be restrained and no submissions will go untried as these impeccable athletes are looking to make an IMPACT!

DAVID LOISEAU (11-4-0) will return to defend his TKO Middleweight Championship. "The Crow" has been involved in some of the most epic bouts in TKO’s history and never hesitates to fight whoever is thrown in front of him. He will do so again at TKO 18 as he hopes this fight will put him one step closer to achieving his goal of returning to the UFC. His opponent will be announced shortly.

DONALD OUIMET (8-3-0) leapfrogged to the top of the lightweight division with two spectacular victories over his nemesis Dave Goulet. He will now defend his belt against a monster of a lightweight fighter, STEVE DUQUETTE (2-0-0). Both men have shown devastating striking skills in their recent bouts. Ouimet brings a wealth of jiu-jitsu skills with him into the ring; Duquette’s background is in boxing but he spent the last six months training with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Wagnney Fabiano. How this fight will be fought and how it will end is anyone’s guess! This has "fight of the night" written all over it.

SHANE RICE (1-2-0) shocked the MMA world with his dominating performance against highly regarded Mark Hominick to capture the TKO Super-Lightweight Championship at TKO 17. Rice gives all praise to his teacher Rickson Gracie and hopes to continue to use his outstanding jiu-jitsu skills against a formidable, young and talented fighter, STÉPHANE VIGNEAULT (7-2-0). Vigneault is coming off a spectacular KO by spinning back fist over Stephane Laliberte at TKO 17. Lately, "Simba" has overwhelmed his opponents and pleased the fans with his constantly improving standup game. Rice does not care what Vigneault has done of late and he is furious to be a heavy underdog in this fight. He wants to silence his critics and prove that he is the best super lightweight fighter in Canada. With wins over Hominick and Vigneault, that claim would be very difficult to deny.

Fans in attendance at TKO 18 will witness the crowning of a TKO Heavyweight Champion! The stage could not be set any better. Both of these fighters are undefeated, both train with two of the country’s finest MMA teams, and both fighters have knocked out all of their opposition to date! TODD GOUWENBERG (3-0-0) is an aggressive fighter from Gibson’s Kickboxing & Pankration. ROB MacDONALD (3-0-0) is another hard-hitting product from Team Tompkins. Just seeing these two goliaths standing across the ring from one another will be worth the price of admission! Fireworks are guaranteed as this fight promises to end violently and suddenly.

In a fight between two of the most underrated and exciting fighters in MMA the storyline will be Canada vs. USA! CURTIS STOUT (7-5-1) is a UFC veteran who has fought some of the best in the sport. He impressed everyone in his TKO debut, showcasing some devastating Muay Thai strikes in the fight with David Loiseau. STEPHAN POTVIN (7-6-0) has beaten some of the best fighters in the middleweight division. He dominated both UFC veterans Joe Doerksen and Ronald Jhun. Both Stout and Potvin feel that the best in their careers is yet to come. A win at TKO 18 will certainly put them on the right track.

This incredible fight card will also feature the long awaited return of Canadian MMA legend DAVID BENETEAU (6-5-1) as he takes on Quebec’s power house ICHO LARENAS (1-1-0). The event will also feature TKO superstars JONATHAN GOULET (10-5-0), SAM STOUT (3-1-1), RYAN DIAZ (7-8-0), PHILLIPE LAGACE (2-2-0) and many, many more!
