Nunes vs. Gamburyan, Escovedo vs. Mizugaki Added to UFC 135

By FCF Staff

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added two more bouts to the promotion’s upcoming September 24th event in Denver, Colorado, as featherweight Diego Nunes will take on Manny Gamburyan and bantamweight Cole Escovedo will face Takeya Mizugaki.

Nunes (16-2) (pictured) will be looking to rebound from the unanimous decision loss he suffered at the hands of Kenny Florian in June, which ended the Brazilian fighter’s three fight win streak.

Gamburyan (11-6) is coming off back-to-back losses to featherweight champ Jose Aldo and most recently Tyson Griffin, who defeated the former TUF competitor by UD on June 26th.

Escovedo (17-7) last competed at UFC 130 in May and dropped a decision loss to Renan Barao, after submitting Steve Siler at a Showdown Fights event in January.

Mizugaki (14-6-2) recently lost by unanimous decision to Brian Bowles at UFC 132 on July 2nd. Prior to the defeat, at UFC Live on Versus 3 in March, Mizugaki worked his way to a split decision win over Reuben Duran.

UFC 135 will be hosted by Denver’s Pepsi Center and will feature a light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event.
