Oleksandr Usyk remains undefeated and the WBC, WBA, and WBO heavyweight champ, following his thrilling win over Tyson Fury on Saturday.
Fury started the rematch strong, but ultimately, Usyk’s pressure and precision likely delivered him the win. All three judges awarded the fight to the Ukrainian star by scores of 116-112.
Usyk (23-0) defeated Fury (34-2-1) by split decision in their first fight this past May.
After the bout, IBF champ Daniel Dubios (22-2) came into the ring and challenged Usyk to a rematch and the latter accepted the challenge. Usyk stopped Dubois in the ninth round of their 2023 fight. But, the bout featured some controversy, as Usyk went to the canvas earlier in the fight due to a punch that was ruled a low blow. Many observers, however, questioned that the punch was a foul.
Dubois is scheduled to defend the IBF title against Joseph Parker on February 22nd.
