Olympic Medalist Wrestler Mark O. Madsen to Make Octagon Debut at UFC Copenhagen

By FCF Staff

Ahead of the UFC’s debut card in Copenhagen, Denmark, the promotion has announced that one of that nation’s top wrestlers, Mark O. Madsen, will compete on the card.

Recently the promotion announced that Madsen will take on Danilo Belluardo at the September 28th event. The 34-year-old Madsen is a former Olympic Silver Medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling, competing in the 75 kilogram division. Madsen also won multiple medals competing in the World Wrestling Championships.

The Danish fighter transitioned into pro-MMA in 2013, and since then he’s gone 8-0. Most recently Madsen submitted Patrick Nielsen while competing at a Olympian Fight Night card in June.

Belluardo (12-4), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage loss to Joel Alvarez at UFC Stockholm that same month.
