Clementi dominated from the outset. After a tie up Payne jumped to guard. Clementi slammed Payne down in a corner, trapping Payne against the fence. Clementi stacked Payne in the guard and used his head to crank Payne’s head/neck into the fence. Unable to escape Payne taps.

Newman attempt to arch throw Cook from the front hug position. Cook deftly entwines a leg around Newman preventing a throw and ends up in half mount that he quickly improves to mount. Cook rains punches and elbows down on Newman’s head. Newman nearly escapes out the backdoor, but Cook entangles an arm and goes for an arm-bar. After a brief stand off Cook sinks the arm-bar and Newman taps.

The WEF returns to Georgia on Saturday April 7, 2001 for the Circle of Truth. The last trials event in FL was hailed as the best amateur card ever assembled! Now the WEF brings its trials event to the Georgia National Guard Armory for a stellar show that will bring the house down. The card, featuring, some of the best fighters from GA, FL, TX, and SC. is filling up fast but the WEF is still accepting applications for the trials! If you are an amateur looking to fight please fill out an application ASAP!

    MAT MADNESS – PROVING GROUNDZ
    The next NAGA event originally scheduled for May 19th (Saturday) has been moved to Sunday the 20th. We also moved the location from Danbury, CT to Norwich, CT. More information will be available to you next week via emails and flyers. The new venue, Norwich Free Academy is the largest wrestling facility in CT just 5 minutes from Foxwoods Resort and Casino. We will be holding double elimination for all No-Gi divisions! See you there.

    SOUTHEAST NAGA MEMBERS
    The FFC Submission Grappling Open will take place on May 5, 2001 at Miami, Florida! The event is sanctioned by the North American Grappling Association (NAGA). This is the second of 5 tournaments being held in Florida in 2001. Each event will allow fighters to accumulate points towards a national title as done in the Northeast. The year end championship will be held in Orlando on Saturday, December 1st, 2001.

    The FCC tournament has kid, teen, women, senior, and adult divisions. There are also many weight classes and skill levels – such as beginner, intermediate, and advanced. There will also be an absolute division which anyone can enter. The winner of the absolute division will win a Championship Belt! All the competitors may compete in as many events as they want – at no extra charge. So if you lose your first match in beginner – you may compete in intermediate for free!

    If you register before April 14, you pay only $35! If you register at the door, it will cost $50. So save $15 and register now! The matches will take place on 26′ x 26′ mats! The mats are new high quality zebra mats. We will also be having a raffle for all the competitors and spectators! We will be giving out shirts, caps, gear, and the grand prize – a Sega Dreamcast with the UFC Video Game!
