After turning down the UFC for a job with ONE FC this summer, Bibiano Fernandes walked away with a victory in his promotional debut today in Quezon City, Philippines. Facing another renowned jiu-jitsu competitor in Gustavo Falciroli, Fernandes relied on his wrestling and ground-and-pound skills to score a unanimous decision win.

Although the bout included a few heated striking exchanges, much of the fight was spent on the mat, where Fernandes was able to land plenty of strikes from above. Although Falciroli never appeared to be in any serious danger, and was the fresher of the two in round three, the output of Fernandes entrenched the decision win.

The fourth bout between Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski ended in controversial fashion, as following two illegal kicks from Arlovski in round three the bout was declared a No Contest.

After two competitive rounds to begin the fight, Arlovski floored Sylvia in the third frame with a couple of hard right hands. Arlovski looked to finish the fight by kicking Sylvia to the head, but did so before referee Yuji Shimada had granted permission for an open attack.

Sylvia was given several minutes to recover from the kicks, and appeared to be okay, but the bout was eventually called off. Afterwards, the rivals spoke to one another in the cage, and both proceeded to express an interest in fighting for a fifth time.

Former UFC lightweight champ Jens Pulver put up a good fight against Eric Kelly, but came up short against the rising featherweight. Early on, Pulver was able to drop Kelly with his renowned left hook, but Kelly weathered the storm and resumed his attack.

In round two, it wasn’t long before a tired Pulver was sent to the canvas after absorbing a hard kick to the liver. As Kelly landed more punches from above, the referee brought the action to a halt.

Afterwards, Pulver relayed that he would be interested in fighting in ONE’s FC’s upcoming bantamweight Grand-Prix.
