Yoshihiro Akiyama needed less than one round to take out Sherif Mohamed at ONE Championship’s “King of the Jungle” card on Friday. But, the Japanese-Korean star wasn’t completely happy with his performance.

Akiyama floored Mohamed with a right hook at the event, and in doing so, the 44-year-old veteran ended a two-fight losing streak. While discussing his win after the bout, however, Akiyama said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I am really happy, but I think I could move more during the bout,” Akiyama said. “He had a lot of power, and also a strong heart. He touched me in different parts of my face. I’ve learned that I need to work more on my footwork.”

And while talking about his next bout, the decorated Judoka said the following:

“I want, as soon as possible in Korea, ONE Championship.”

With Friday’s win, Akiyama’s MMA record now stands at 15-7. Last June, Akiyama returned to the cage after a four-year hiatus from fighting, and lost via decision to Agilan Thani.

Mohamed’s record fell to 8-6 with his latest loss.
