ONE Championship recently held a press conference, ahead of the promotion’s card today in Sinagpore, which will air in the United States on TNT.

The event will feature former UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson challenging ONE flyweight champ, Adriano Moraes. In addition, former Bellator and UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez will take on Iuri Lapicus .

Here is some of what the card’s competitors had to say at the pre-fight presser.

Adriano Moraes, ONE Flyweight World Champion, stated: “I’m excited. I feel blessed and healthy. I just want to say thank you to Demetrious Johnson for challenging me for my belt, and to be here to fight against me. I can’t wait to showcase [my skills] to my American fans. I knew this time would come, and the time is now. I’m ready.”

Demetrious Johnson, ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Champion, stated: “I want to thank ONE Championship for the opportunity to come out here and compete in Singapore. I’m looking forward to the challenge against Adriano Moraes. He’s been a great champion. I know it’s going to be a tough fight, and I’m ready to display my skill set live on TNT. The threat level is high. Adriano is a great champion, great grappler, and long for the division. He has a reach advantage. For me, I have to get [inside] without taking any punishment, push the pace, and put the pressure on.”

Eddie Alvarez, former UFC and Bellator Lightweight World Champion, stated: “I’m excited to be here. This is everything I envisioned when I signed with ONE Championship — to bring this show to America, to show the American fans how great it is. It’s a dream come true. I’m more motivated than ever. I’m always in the gym, I’m always getting ready, and I’m always on edge. There’s a huge part of me inside that [tells me] I have to achieve this. I’ve been reawakened during this whole COVID thing. You will see it.”

Iuri Lapicus, #2-ranked lightweight contender, stated: “I cannot wait to fight. I think that Eddie Alvarez is always at his best. He has massive experience, and especially now that he wants to win his third World Title. I think I can [beat Eddie] because I am young and hungry. I want a second chance for the title.”

Danial Williams, WMC Muay Thai World Champion, stated: “You know, it’s a big occasion. I’m just here to create the story of an underdog. Rodtang is the man. I have the utmost respect for him. Of course, he’s the flyweight champion, and the difference is obviously the mentality I have just to create that story. That’s what I’m here to do.”

Rodtang Jitmuangnon, ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, stated: “I’m very happy and honored to be here today because this is the biggest event for me. To be on the world stage [especially in front of the U.S. fans], I’m very honored. I would like to thank Chatri for giving me this opportunity. I will do my best to represent Thailand and show my Muay Thai [skills] to the world.”
