Sul Combat Results
By Eduardo Alonso

Storm Samurai wasn’t the only MMA show taking place in Brazil this last Saturday, November 29th. As mentioned before here at FCF, the city of Sao Leopoldo, near Porto Alegre in the extreme south of the country saw their first ever taste of Mixed Martial Arts action, as the crowd got pleased with a lot of local fighters, such as Storm veteran Helio Dipp and BTT member Rafael Cestari winning their fights with a good showing. MECA veteran Fabricio Morango also followed his win at MECA 8, his last apparance, with another solid effort in Sul Combat, defeating Marcelo Rodrigues with a katagatame choke. Here are the results of this show, who is helping out our sport to break even more ground in Brazil:

  • Eduardo Verissimo def. Gelson Carvalho by armbar in R1
  • Lindomar Silva def. Reginaldo Daora by judges’ decision
  • Fabricio Morango def. Marcelo Rodrigues by side choke in R1
  • Alexandre Vieira def. Sergio Piu by KO in R1
  • Carlos Aveline defated Fabricio Moura by choke in R2
  • Minnu Bittencourte def. Atila Martins by choke in R2
  • Rafael Cestari def. Diego Nosferatu by judges’ decision
  • Antonio Conceicao def. Francisco Marcos by armbar in R1
  • Helio Dipp def. Bernardo Lopes by TKO in R1
