Pamplona vs. Peoples, Spain vs. Ford Added to June 24th Challengers

By FCF Staff

Strikeforce has confirmed two more bouts for this Friday’s June 24th, Challengers event, which will be hosted by the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. At welterweight, Eduardo Pamplona will take on Jerron Peoples and lightweight Charon Spain will meet Sterling Ford.

Pamplona (14-2) will head into the event riding a nine fight winning streak, and has not lost since he was stopped Robbie Lawler at an International Fight League event in February, 2007. Peoples is listed on the official Strikeforce site as having a record of 1-0.

Spain (6-5) is coming off back-to-back victories over Roy Bradshaw and most recently Ken Sitsler, who he submitted at a King of the Cage event in April.

Ford (12-5) has won five straight fights; in his last outing at a Caged Warrior Combat event in March, the lightweight defeated Scott Thometz by unanimous decision.

Friday’s Challengers card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Caros Fodor and James Terry. Some of the other bouts scheduled for the main card include Ryan Couture vs. lightweight Matt Ricehouse, light-heavyweight Gian Villante vs. Lorenz Larkin and welterweight Quinn Mulhern vs. Jason High.

As always, the event will be broadcast on Showtime.
