Welterweight Expects “Exciting” May 5th Bout With John Hathaway

By FCF Staff

Roufusport has announced that the undefeated Pascal “Panzer” Krauss has officially joined the renowned fight team. The rising welterweight, who has gone 10-0 to date, had been preparing for his upcoming UFC on FOX 3 bout with John Hathaway at the Milwaukee based gym.

“It’s really good out here,” Krauss was quoted saying in an announcement regarding the German fighter’s decision. “There are a lot of good guys in each area. Ben Askren is a beast in wrestling, Anthony Pettis is an awesome striker…he’s elusive, and uses different angles. Most of those guys that train here are good at standup and wrestling, so there is a good mixture in every area of MMA. I’m feeling really good. Even outside the camp, I’m feeling really good…everyone is so nice. I love it here.”

Krauss is coming off a successful Octagon debut in November, 2010, when he worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Mark Scanlon at UFC 122. The 24 year-old-fighter did not compete in 2011 due to injury.

“Having Pascal join up with our team is awesome, and I’m really excited to get to work with him,” Roufusport Head Trainer Duke Roufus said about Krauss, who was an amateur boxing champion in Germany. “I believe this is going to be a mutually-beneficial relationship where both sides come out ahead in growth and accomplishments.”

In Hathaway’s (15-1) previous outing, at Fight Night 24 last March, the British fighter worked his way to a split decision win over Kris McCray, after losing by UD to Mike Pyle in October, 2010.

“We’ll see what happens,” said Krauss, who held the welterweight belt for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship prior to signing with the UFC. “I’m planning to put on a good fight as always…an entertaining performance. I don’t know what the game plan is right now, other than winning the fight. Regardless, it’s going to be exciting.”

“We’re working on all parts of Pascal’s game, and when he steps back into the cage on May 5th, I believe we’re going to see the best version of ‘Panzer’ that we’ve ever seen,” said Roufus. “He’s a beast…it’s going to be a big night for him.”

The May 5th, UFC on FOX 3 card will be hosted by East Rutherford’s IZOD Center and will feature a lightweight bout between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller in the main event.
